FEWER WITHDRAWAL EFFECTS DURING TAPERING
We now offer a family of 3 NERVE PRODUCTS. Each of these help you when you taper off a psychiatric drug. Together, the effect can be quite strong. You should see fewer and milder withdrawal effects during tapering, especially help you better cope with:
Feelings of depression
Aggressiveness and other mood problems
Lack of energy and fatigue
Other effects of stress
Try them together and don’t be surprised if your stress-related feelings start to disappear after only a few days.
HOW THEY WORK
ENERGY: Energy is the cornerstone of health. Vitamins, minerals and amino acids influence the body’s energy production on a cellular level (ATP). Some also directly help improve brain energy. Read More...
CHRONIC INFLAMMATION: New research shows that there is a close relationship between chronic internal inflammation and feelings of anxiety and depression. This type of inflammation is often undetected because it falls below the radar of pain and visible swelling. In the brain, such inflammation can affect the signaling between brain cells, which is why it can be so disruptive.
NEUROTRANSMISSION: The body uses several amino acids for normal and healthy nerve function. One of the effects of psychiatric medication is to disrupt this signaling between nerves.
LIVER HEALTH: The liver detoxifies the body. It can be overwhelmed by drugs, medications and toxins from the environment. These chemicals can then accumulate, causing both physical and emotional problems.
WHY NERVE PRODUCTS?
We believe that naming these products as NERVE products best describes what they actually do—that the ingredients in these products have substantial benefits for someone tapering from a psychiatric drug. In addition to providing the raw materials for normal, healthy nerve function, reliable scientific research shows that these nutrients also (1) increase cellular energy production, (2) help reduce chronic inflammation, and (3) support the health of the liver.
HOW THE “NERVE FORMULA” WORKS
REDUCE CHRONIC INFLAMMATION: New research shows that there is a close relationship between chronic internal inflammation and feelings of anxiety and depression. This type of inflammation is often undetected because it falls below the radar of pain and visible swelling. In the brain, such inflammation can affect the signaling between brain cells, which is why it can be so disruptive. Providing nutrients called antioxidants is a natural way to help the body reduce inflammation.
Curcumin from Turmeric root and polyphenols from Grape seed and Green tea are strong plant antioxidants. NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine) is a strong antioxidant that the body also uses to produce its own primary antioxidant glutathione. NAC has also been used as nutritional support for autism to replenish the cysteine and sulfur in brain cells. Alpha lipoic acid, which can be found in most food, is yet another powerful antioxidant. It is also a chelating agent that has been used to remove mercury deposits from the brain.
IMPROVE LIVER HEALTH: The liver is the organ that detoxifies the body. It can be overwhelmed by drugs, medications and toxins from the environment. When the liver is stressed, these chemicals can accumulate, causing both physical and emotional problems. The body can also become more fat. One reason is that it tries to protect itself by producing deposits of fat to surround the toxins. But the body will also just store away more fat because the liver is less able to metabolize it (the liver is the organ that produces all the hormones and other components that the body uses to break down fat).
Milk thistle seed extract has potent liver-protective and regenerative properties because of constituents called
sylmarins. Taurine is an amino acid that is essential part of the detoxification process—the liver uses it to bind with some toxins.
HOW THE “NERVE AMINO ACIDS” WORKS
NERVE AMINOS consists of amino acids that your body need for neurological health.
is primarily found in green tea. It is seen as the reason people feel so relaxed and peaceful after drinking the beverage. Many studies show that supplementing the diet with l-theanine helps relieve anxiety, reduce stress and boost mood.
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine is essential for your body to make glutathione, our most important antioxidant to help cope the oxidative stress that is behind chronic inflammation (and which has been linked to feelings of anxiety and depression).
L-Taurine influences the activity of the calming neurotransmitter GABA.
L-Tyrosine is needed to produce the neurotransmitters norepinephrine and dopamine, which in turn control feelings of energy, alertness and improved mood.
L-Glycine helps relieve muscular tension along the spinal column where people usually experience this anxiety-induced tension.
L-Tryptophan is a starting amino acid for the mood-regulating and calming neurotransmitter serotonin.
L-Methionine is also essential for the production of neurotransmitters such as serotonin. Several clinical studies have shown the benefits of methionine supplementation for better mood.
N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine enters the brain easier than regular l-carnitine. This amino acid is needed by cells to produce energy. Research has shown benefits including improved mood, memory enhancement including nutritional support for Alzheimers.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is important you take the Nerve Aminos at least half an hour before you eat other food.
HOW THE “NERVE MULTI-VITAMINS” WORKS
THE NERVE MULTI-VITAMIN is not just your every-day vitamin formula. We have formulated it specifically to help with energy while tapering from a psychiatric drug.
FOLATE IS ONE OF THE KEY VITAMINS FOR TAPERING. Your body needs it to to make and repair DNA and RNA, the building blocks of cells. Toxins from drugs can cause damage to nervous system, so you need to give the body what it needs for tissue repair. Folic acid is also essential to form red blood cells, which are essential part for your energy metabolism.
If you already take a multivitamin, it probably has the ingredient folic acid listed on the label. This is a synthetic form of folate and is not bioactive—it does not have the ability to directly interact with cells. For folic acid to be of use for the body, it must be converted to a new form of folate called tetrahydrofolate. Clinical studies have shown that showed that 25% of people have a genetic variation of an enzyme that is required for this conversion. Un-metabolized folic is biologically useless so this means that one quarter of persons taking ordinary multivitamins may never get the benefits of folic acid.
NERVE MULTI-VITAMIN USES 5-MTHF (methylfolate) instead of folic acid. This is a naturally occurring folate that the body can absorb immediately. It is readily taken up by the cells and is immediately usable. Methylfolate is the only folate that can cross the blood-brain barrier.
The other ingredients in the NERVE MULTI-VITAMIN help with successful tapering in various ways: VITAMIN A is necessary for the synthesis of energy (ATP) in cells. When the body is deficient in vitamin A, energy production is reduced by up to 30%.
VITAMIN D deficiency commonly causes muscle fatigue. This is due to the role that the vitamin plays in the mitochondria: the ‘power stations’ within each cell of the body.
VITAMIN E is a primary protective brain antioxidant. The brain has a high oxygen consumption rate and abundant polyunsaturated fatty acids in the cell membranes that are easily damaged by free radicals.
VITAMIN C protects the body from the effects of stress. It is a strong antioxidant and a participant in numerous metabolic reactions.
VITAMIN B1 is a co-factor for the metabolism of carbohydrates, which turns the food into energy. It also plays an important role in nerve transmission.
VITAMIN B2 is part of the electron transport that produces cellular energy. It is needed to make red blood cells and like vitamin B1 plays a crucial role in neurotransmission.
VITAMIN B3 takes part in over fifty metabolic processes that turn carbohydrates and fat into energy.
VITAMIN B5 (PANTOTHENIC ACID) is a component of coenzyme A (CoA), which is required for chemical reactions that generate energy from fat, carbohydrates, and proteins. It also is needed for normal neurotransmission.
VITAMIN B6 plays a key role in our energy production process. Without it, oxygen could not be transported via the blood to cells to make the energy molecule ATP. Vitamin B6 also is used to convert stored carbohydrates and protein to energy.
VITAMIN B12 is an essential component for red blood cells, which is why it is an essential energy vitamin. Vitamin B12 is also necessary for normal nerve function.
BIOTIN is one of the agents that converts food into energy, metabolizing fats and carbohydrates into glucose, and breaking down of proteins into amino acids.
CHOLINE controls the deposition of fat, allowing the body to store it efficiently or tap it immediately as an energy source for muscle use. It is also a building block for the neurotransmitter acetyl-choline.
INOSITOL helps transport fats to be used as energy. It acts as a mild "anti-anxiety" agent because it positively affects nerve transmissions.
PABA is sometimes used to help with anxiety and panic attacks. It is a constituent of folate and helps in the formation of red blood cells.
ZINC improves nerve and cognitive function because it stimulates the production of SOD, the primary antioxidant enzyme produced in the body that protects nerve cells against from free radicals.
BORON helps enhance brain functioning and mental alertness. Scientists have not yet discovered the mechanics of how taking the mineral produce these effects.
MANGANESE is also necessary to produce the antioxidant enzyme SOD. Many report that the mineral helps with anxiety, although the exact method by which it does this is not known.
COPPER plays a critical role in cellular energy production through the copper-dependent enzyme, cytochrome-c-oxidase. It is also essential for healthy nerve function, specifically to produce the neurotransmitter noradrenaline.
IODINE deficiency causes a slowing or depression of brain function. Increased energy and reduction of symptoms such as brain fog have been reported when the iodine intake is sufficient.
CHROMIUM is essential for energy production because it participates in glucose metabolism by enhancing the effects of insulin. Low blood sugar or insulin resistance are known to produce anxiety, physical fatigue, and mental lethargy.
SELENIUM plays a role in muscle metabolism. One of the deficiency symptoms of selenium deficiency is a feeling of exhaustion.
BIOFLAVONOIDS enhance the effect of vitamin C, which in larger doses can have a tranquilizing anti-anxiety effect.
