Detailed Description

Calsorption

Calcium absorption is a major health concern throughout the world. We hear the ads on television constantly about a new food product enriched with calcium. With all the emphasis being given calcium, why is osteoporosis still on the rise? Why is there such a problem with being overweight in America since calcium promotes weight loss? Why do so many females suffer debilitating PMS symptoms, pre-menopause, menopause and post-menopause each month?

Being calcium deficient is not always due to not consuming enough calcium. We need to be able to assimilate the calcium and let our body put the calcium to use.

Many people with anxiety that take calcium will have a calcium reaction and instead of the natural calming effect as advertised by most calcium suppliers, these people would become overly anxious. Once these people stopped taking their calcium, their anxiety level went back down once again.

But, people taking medication will usually need additional calcium because the medication is depleting it from the body. Many people need to supplement daily with calcium to help with health conditions and are caught in the "damn if I do and damn if I don't."

How to improve the rate of calcium absorption without affecting the metabolism of medication or creating a drug/supplement interaction needed to be found.

The standard way for calcium to be assimilated:

  1. Take a calcium supplement or eat food fortified with calcium
  2. Hope you have enough vitamin D present to allow the calcium to assimilate

Or

  1. Take a calcium supplement or eat food fortified with calcium
  2. Take vitamin D daily

Why the standard way of taking calcium has left us calcium deficient

  1. Calcium must assimilate in the upper part of the small intestine
  2. Vitamin D must be present for calcium to assimilate in the small intestine
  3. Roughly fifty percent of the population will  have the genetic makeup that inhibits vitamin D absorption
  4. Roughly fifty percent of the population will have the genetic makeup that inhibits calcium absorption in the upper part of the small intestine.
  5. Calcium will only be present in the upper portion of the small intestine for a very short time and once it passes this location calcium would not be assimilated.

Solutions for other health concerns have also led to calcium deficiency in parts of the world that have a near constant sunshine.

In Australia the rate of skin cancer was increasing. The consensus of the Australian medical community was to have people stay out of the sun or wear clothing that would cover most of the body. The skin cancer rate dropped after a number of years, however, the rate of new osteoporosis diagnosis climbed to an all time high. Again, we need to supplement with vitamin D or get about ten minutes of sunshine on our body daily for the vitamin D, which translates to calcium, if consumed, being able to be absorbed by the upper portion of the small intestine.

What is the Solution?

A food supplement by the name of Calsorption is the solution.

What is Calsorption and How Does Inulin Work?

Calsorption is a natural soluble fiber, made from chicory roots.  Calsorption has been shown to increase numbers of beneficial bacteria within the digestive system.  Healthy levels of these important bacteria can result in improved intestinal functions, relief of constipation, digestive comfort and assist with the assimilation of calcium.  In addition, with Inulin having a positive effect on calcium absorption in adolescents and postmenopausal women, Inulin is potentially playing a role in bone health.

Calsorption is an all-natural prebiotic that supports optimal colon functioning and mineral absorption. Prebiotics are non-digestible fibers that are the energy source for the beneficial bacteria in the colon. By feeding the beneficial bacteria, we keep our bodies in balance. Inulin, from chicory root, is an easy to disperse fine granulated white powder. Furthermore, with its mildly sweet taste, but without a surge in blood sugar levels, inulin can be used as a sugar replacement in low calorie or diabetic-suitable foods.

What are the health benefits of Calsorption? Calsorption is a prebiotic that is fermented in the large intestine by the beneficial bacteria, bifidobacteria. Following the consumption of Calsorption blood sugar levels are not elevated making it a quality sugar substitute in foods for diabetics. Also, Calsorption is a soluble fiber which may help maintain regularity.

What is a prebiotic? A prebiotic selectively stimulates growth of healthy bacteria in the colon such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli, which provide benefits to the body's digestive system. Calsorption is fermented by these intestinal bacteria, and short chain fatty acids are produced. This can then cause a lowering of the pH in the large intestine, and result in increased calcium absorption. This lower pH also slows the growth of certain bacteria that can weaken the immune system.

What are the caloric values of Calsorption? Calsorption products have caloric values ranging from 1.1 to 1.3 calories per gram. Carbohydrates in general have a value of 4 calories per gram.

How much Calsorption should be consumed each day? Prebiotic benefits and calcium absorption can be seen from Calsorption at 5 grams per day. You can add 5 of the 1 gram scoops of Inulin to water or any other food or drink daily for this benefit.

Clinical trials have shown that 5 grams of Calsorption a day will increase the assimilation of calcium by up to 30%. That is a significant increase of absorption.

You will find the Calsorption formula being used in several food products now. However, it does required 5 grams a day of the formula to have this effect with calcium absorption.
